Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love books. I tend to think that the whole creative process in me lends itself to a passion for books as well. I just finished a very creative book - I say creative, 'cause it speaks to the very basic premise of creativity. Everyone has it - but we just need to reconnect with it. Everywhere I look and listen, I hear 2.0. About politics, world events, websites. Uh huh. I find people hemmin' and hawwin' about stuff; life, love, jobs, family, other stuff. I go into a Jamba Juice for a smoothie. The girl taking my order has a 'tude - is unhappy (life, love, JOB, family, other stuff). I think, REBOOT! I fast and I pray that god finds it in his heart to help this young lady
FIND WHAT IT IS THAT MAKES HER WANT TO GET OUT OF BED EACH AND EVERY MORNING. 'Cause I won't. Jamba Juice wont. Perhaps a bigger, better paying fast-food socioeconoglomerate will. But I can't. Nope, I'm too busy keeping up behind the things I'M passionate about. Finding and sharing in gems that help keep the spark of creativity alight and at an all-time high. Such as Hugh MacLeods' book, Ignore Everyone (more to come on this book in a later post). A must read for any creative sort. Not just voiceover actors. Next time, thoughts on Branding. Share what your thoughts are on creativity.
